DIAMOND CUTTING BLADES - By Desert Diamond Industries
In
September of 2009 Desert Diamond
Industries LLC. sent us their 14" Vacuum Brazed Safety Blade. We
have been using it for mostly steel during our
forcible entry
training classes where we cut re-bar, flat stock, hardened
lock shackles, hardened padlock bodies, hockey puck locks, security
gates, etc.
We really like the one piece construction. This means that there is
almost no chance of injury due to blade segment loss. The blade is
also very forgiving to users not as experienced as others. There is
less kickback, and due to the width of the cutting surface, and
abrasive surface on the side of the blade, there is a lot less
binding when the saw is twisted during operations.
We
also like the fact there is no
aluminum oxide
dust and a lot less sparking when cutting steel. Over 1,000
firefighters have used the blade and it is still going strong. For

BLACK DIAMOND BOOTS
A
couple months ago
Black Diamond sent me a pair of their X Boots. To me all
boots feel the same. I have size 14 feet with not arch. Usually, no
matter what, after a couple hours in fire boots, my feet and back
start bothering me. I have worn these boots at 6 classes now at six
to eight hours a day. My feet and back have not bothered me one bit.
I also like the tread on them. It has good grip and ads a little
cushion when walking. I will continue to wear them at our classes
and up date this as they break in a little more. For more
information on the Black Diamond X Boot go to.
