01/06/2008 - Scranton, PA - Line of Duty Death

It is with regret to inform you that Captain James Robeson lost his life from injuries sustained while operating at a house fire this morning. Reports state that he was electrocuted while operating in the the bucket of the ladder company.

Captain Robeson leaves behind his wife and son. Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his family and the Scranton Fire Department.

It is with regret that the department announces the death of the following member: Lieutenant John H. Martinson of Engine Company 249 which occurred on January 3rd, 2008 as a result of injuries sustained while operating at Brooklyn box 22-3762, transmitted at 1914 hours, January 3rd, 2008.

Lt. Martinson was the 1,138th member to make the Supreme Sacrifice in the department’s 144 year history. Lt. Martinson leaves behind a wife and a two year old son. They were expecting their second child in May.

May he rest in peace.
